Mdu Ntuli, JHGC Education Officer, is in conversation with Rabbi Moshe Silberhaft, National Director & Spiritual Leader of the Small Jewish Communities Association of South Africa (SJCA-SA), Owen Griffiths, President of the Island Hebrew Congregation of Mauritius and who heads the Beau Bassin Jewish Detainees Memorial and Information Centre, and Tali Nates, the executive director of the JHGC. They talk about the event on the 12th of August 2020 that commemorates the 75th anniversary of the liberation and release of the Jewish detainees from the Beau Bassin camp in Mauritius in August 1945, and also about the importance of keeping the memory of this little-known history alive.
